• Be enrolled in a course of study in Australia
• Hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), or fall in one of the exemption categories
• Must be 6 years or older
• Prove you have a welfare arrangement, if you are under 18
• Meet English language requirements

• English Courses (General English, IELTS preparation, Cambridge, etc.)
• Vocational Courses (Business, Marketing, Tourism, Sport & Fitness, Hospitalities, etc.)
• University Courses (Bachelor’s Degree. Master and PhD)
• Schools (primary and secondary)

The type of course and its length will determine the length of stay.

If your course lasts Less than 10 months. We will usually grant a visa stay period 1 month longer than the course

If your course lasts 10 months or longer, finishing from January until October. We will usually grant a visa stay period of 2 months longer than the course

If your course lasts 10 months or longer, finishing at the end of the Australian academic year (November to December). We will usually grant a visa stay period to 15 March of the following year

Primary school children enrolled in years 1-4 will generally only be granted a student visa for a maximum period of 3 years. The maximum length of stay for a Student visa will generally not exceed 5 years.
