• You must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
• You must be 18 years old or older when your prospective spouse applies for the visa.
• We might not let you be a sponsor or grant the applicant a visa if:
  • you currently hold or previously held one of the following visas and
  • certain circumstances apply
• You and your prospective spouse must marry

Step 2: Submit visa application and pay visa fee
Step 3: Australia confirms receipt of your 300 visa application
Step 4: Health check
Step 5: Add documents (if be required)
Step 6: Get the visa
Step 7: Go to Australia to get married to apply for visa 820/801

When applying for a visa: the applicant can be inside or outside Australia.
When visa grant: the sponsored person must be outside Australia.
You must be married within 15 months of the 300 visa term.
You can get married in Australia or any other country, but the marriage must be valid under Australian law.
